All Real Estate Agents Are Liars

All real estate agents are liars. This is what I heard yesterday. And honestly, after he got done telling his story, I agree with him. After being in the business for 25 years, I can honestly say I completely understand why he feels that way. First of all, realtors are in sales. And a lot of people equate realtors or real estate agent to use car salesmen. And why? because they are literally just trying to help you buy and sell a house and that's it. And they don't they could care less about anything else. When people ask you what's going on in the market, what does a realtor often say? It's always a good time to buy and sell. And you wonder why they have trust issues with us. Remember, data is what drives the market and your personal finances is what determines whether it's a good time to buy or sell. Nothing I say is going to change that. But unfortunately, you don't often hear that commission first. I often hear that we get paid a lot of money to do a job that a lot of people don't find necessary. And again, I understand why some people would feel this way. Once you sign the contract, you never hear from them again until close. They get paid and you never hear from them again. And in 25 years, I've seen this more than enough time to understand why people feel this way. no longevity. I think this is probably the bigger issue that leads into every that kind of addresses everything we've talked about. What is it less than 70% of uh new uh licensed real estate agents last two years and then a small percentage of that actually make it past 5 years. So, what does that tell you? The majority of real estate agents don't make it past five years. So, they're kind of just passing through. And people know this. The group of real estate agents that have been in business for many years, I've been in it for 25 years, is small. Like I I know quite a few of them, but it's a small group. It's not the majority of the group. So, are real estate agent liars? No. But if you're talking to the wrong real estate agent, they are interested in sales and they are going to tell you that it's just the right time to buy and sell just because they do want to get paid their commission. So, don't trust just any real estate agent.
