I wish somebody would've told me this before I got into Real Estate full-time
If you are looking to get licensed and become a real estate agent in the foreseeable future, you're going to want to see this video. I did a video a few days ago talking about how our industry does new agents an injustice. They sell you this pipe dream about how much money you're going to make working part-time. And it's just unrealistic. And so I kind of explain how this works. And I had a few people reach out to me and say, "Well, if that's not the real scenario, what is the real scenario?" So I got on here and I'm going to make a video about it. You have to be prepared to exchange time for money and knowledge. What do I mean by that? When you become a licensed realtor, you have no negotiating experience, no contract experience, no marketing experience, and no sales experience in this industry. You might have it in other industries, but not in this industry. And since you don't have a database of business and assuming you don't have money to buy leads, what happens is you have to spend every day branding, marketing, and getting known, networking uh in the city, the community, being out, talking to people, door knocking, phone calls, whatever. Whatever it takes. And you in that time, you're going to get your message out, you're going to let people know what you do, and you're going to make a lot of mistakes. You're going to lose buyers, you're going to lose sellers cuz you don't know what you're doing yet. More experienced realtors are going to take your business. It's going to suck. But you have to do all that knowing full well that there is a payoff at the end of all of this. That you have the flexibility and the capability of making a lot of money um running your own business because this is what this is. You are an entrepreneur. In In beginning, you start off in sales. And then as you grow and make money, then you bring on an assistant and maybe a marketing assistant and then you start to build a company. And that's what you're getting into. But all of that takes time. A lot of mistakes, a lot of patience. If you don't have that, this is industry is not for you. It will eat you up alive and spit you out. There's a reason why what over 80% of licensed agents don't last more than 5 years and then what last year only like 20-something percent of agents actually sold some real estate. So if you're looking to get in this business and you're willing to do all that, let's talk. I'll give you the good, the bad and the ugly. But if you're not, I'm sorry, there's no way around it. You will not be consistent enough to make a living and pay the bills and don't even start to waste your time or money.
